(âŽïļ āļ āļēāļĐāļēāđāļāļĒ âŽïļ) Local fishermen in Thailand are fighting a losing game against the deterioration of marine ecology caused by destructive fishing equipment and over fishery. In this video, we interviewed two fishermen in Prachuab Kirikhan province. One heads the community’s blue swimming crab cooperative that plays an important role sustaining and increasing the crab populations in the area. Another is a young fisherman who, with his peers, is trying to revive the Sam Roi Yod bay area by building artificial fish habitat as a way to help bringing back the natural ecology. As consumers, we all can help by spreading words...

or plant-based cuisine is still pretty much in its infancy in Thailand, but somehow in Pranburi – the seaside resort town about half an hour south of Hua Hin – there is a serious plant-based culinary school with various courses catering to those looking for some fulfilling and healthy meat-free alternatives to their daily diets. I recently spent a week learning how to make vegan pastries at Blue Lotus Hua Hin‘s plant-based baking and pastries masterclass by Laura Castro. This is not my first time attending their classes, but the first in terms of pastries. Laura, a Columbian native, is free-spirit and avid baker with decades of...
(âŽïļāļ āļēāļĐāļēāđāļāļĒâŽïļ) I supposed you’ll feel like a good spree of tasty local seafood when you are Pranburi – an idyllic seaside town about half an hour drive from the more touristic Hua Hin.  So, yes! here are the top three that we highly recommend. We were there several times and still like them all. Pranburi is still local and away from it all, hence their food still pretty much rustic (which we love), super tasty with fresh ingredients straight from the local fishermen. Sounds perfect, right? So let’s tuck in. āđāļāļāļĢāļēāļāļāļļāļĢāļĩ...
(âŽïļāļ āļēāļĐāļēāđāļāļĒâŽïļ) Udom Pochana is a family-style seafood restaurant in Pranburi district of Prachuab Kirikhan, about half an hour south of Hua Hin. It is also perhaps the longest standing in the area. After 58 years at its original location near Pak Nam Pran, the restaurant has now moved and expanded. Now, the restaurant which is run by second and third generations can serve up to 800 guests. Live bands during weekends, mostly open air but also with a few air-conditioned sections. Good for groups, big families and corporate or camp celebrations...
(âŽïļāļ āļēāļĐāļēāđāļāļĒâŽïļ) Toledo, Spain – After Madrid, we began our Iberian Peninsula expedition in Toledo – the former capital of Spain – about 90 kilometres south. It was a stopover on our way to Salamanca, and we first took sight of their gorgeous and naturally fortified ancient city that was listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO in 1986. āļāļēāļāļĄāļēāļāļĢāļīāļ āđāļĢāļēāļĨāđāļāļāđāļāđāđāļāļāļĢāļ°āļĄāļēāļ 90 āļāļīāđāļĨāđāļĄāļāļĢ āđāļĨāļ°āđāļ§āļ°āļāļĄāđāļĄāļ·āļāļāđāļāđāļĨāđāļ āļāļķāđāļāđāļāđāļāļāļēāļāļāđāļēāļāđāļāļ·āđāļāļāļ°āđāļāđāļĄāļ·āļāļ Salamanca...
It is not everyday that you get to have lunch at a palace, and also in this case, a cafe that is the homage to Thailand’s oldest Western style cafe back in the reign of King Rama VI or King Vajiravudh (1910-1925) during which Siam was high on westernization and modernization. The cafe was called Cafe de Norasingha (āļāļēāđāļāļāļĢāļŠāļīāļāļŦāđ) then as it is called now. But the venue has changed. From the area called ‘Sua Pa’ in the old town, the new cafe is now located inside the Phya Thai Palace in Phra Mongkutklao Hospital on Ratchawithi Road in Bangkok. Situated inside the royal car-boarding platform and the waiting...
