Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas | รีวิวเชอราตันวิลล่า ปราณบุรี

Above: A bright day in Pranburi. Our pool villa is glowing under the morning sun. We started our recent road trip to the south by making a two-night, do-nothing stop in Pranburi. For those who are looking for a serious vacation, the one that would make you think of nothing, even the guilty feeling caused by some lingering, unfinished works, Pranburi would be the place I’d recommend. The place is about an hour south from Hua Hin, but with the world-away peace and quiet and enough local deliciousness that will make you feel immensely fulfilled. Above: Our pool villa. Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas – as the name suggests – is a...

The Different Sides of Thailand In “One Night Stay with Locals” | โปรแกรม โฮมสเตย์ ทั่วไทย

Above: Dinner at Ban Sam Chong Nuea community in Phang Nga, south of Thailand. Above: Be at one with waters at Pa Tew Community (Bang Son) in Chumphon. Localism is on the rise as evidently in latest get-to-know local program by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. The new website ‘One Night Stay with Locals’ catalogs key features...

ธนาคารปู บ้านปลา ประจวบคีรีขันธ์ | Crab Bank + Fish Habitat in Prachuab Khiri khan

(⬇︎ ภาษาไทย ⬇︎) Local fishermen in Thailand are fighting a losing game against the deterioration of marine ecology caused by destructive fishing equipment and over fishery. In this video, we interviewed two fishermen in Prachuab Kirikhan province. One heads the community’s blue swimming crab cooperative that plays an important role sustaining and increasing the crab populations in the area. Another is a young fisherman who, with his peers, is trying to revive the Sam Roi Yod bay area by building artificial fish habitat as a way to help bringing back the natural ecology. As consumers, we all can help by spreading words...

Blue Lotus Hua Hin – When Pastries Become Plant-Based

or plant-based cuisine is still pretty much in its infancy in Thailand, but somehow in Pranburi – the seaside resort town about half an hour south of Hua Hin – there is a serious plant-based culinary school with various courses catering to those looking for some fulfilling and healthy meat-free alternatives to their daily diets. I recently spent a week learning how to make vegan pastries at Blue Lotus Hua Hin‘s plant-based baking and pastries masterclass by Laura Castro. This is not my first time attending their classes, but the first in terms of pastries. Laura, a Columbian native, is free-spirit and avid baker with decades of...

ร้านอร่อยปราณบุรี | Where to Eat in Pranburi

(⬇︎ภาษาไทย⬇︎) I supposed you’ll feel like a good spree of tasty local seafood when you are Pranburi – an idyllic seaside town about half an hour drive from the more touristic Hua Hin.  So, yes! here are the top three that we highly recommend. We were there several times and still like them all. Pranburi is still local and away from it all, hence their food still pretty much rustic (which we love), super tasty with fresh ingredients straight from the local fishermen. Sounds perfect, right? So let’s tuck in.  ไปปราณบุรี...
