One of Bangkok's premium, five-star hotels, The Okura Prestige Bangkok's neat and meticulous features reflect the strong traits of 'Omotenashi' or the Japanese hospitality with extra care in all details. We stayed in their Deluxe Corner room and tried their unique and very delicious Japanese breakfast. :D
I'd say curiosity moves the world. It makes everything more interesting, fun, and worth exploring. I grew up eating all kinds of noodle, Hakka noodle or ก๋วยเตี๋ยวแคะ included. But then, what exactly is Hakka Noodle? The triangle tofu? The broth? Or the person who prepares it?
Wise people, and I mean wise foodie people, once told me that to get to really know the place well, you might want to start at the fresh market. The stomach of the place, the galley, the soul, and the direct path into the heart of locals. So here we are tackling Phuket fresh market for their special UNESCO-listed delicious repertoire.
UNESCO City of Gastronomy, Phuket Town is a real foodie town. Among their amazing arrays of local delicacies is a variety of tea snacks, many of which are an integral part of their daily life. The delicate and cute and delicious Pang Pia is among the oldest recipes.
It is always a blessing for us to be able to roam our own country for something extraordinary. This time, we went down to the lush, green province of Phang-Nga on the Andaman Coast, to find out more about their unique sweet bites, inspired, of course, by the spectacular limestone peaks that surround the town. :D
Thai people have a word for those with frustratingly always innocent and optimistic views of the world. We call them 'beautiful-world people' or 'Puak Lok Suay.' I am definitely not one of those, and this is my not-so-rosy review of Koh Lipe in Satun, southern Thailand. This is a paradise so fragile, it can easily be ruined by an inconsiderate next door neighbour. What can we do better with our environment and human manners?
Our 5.3-km trek in Doi Inthanon, through Pa Dok Siew waterfalls, strawberry fields, wild patches of coffee trees, when we had a lunch so good that we are still dreaming (drooling) about. :D
A sister resort of the famed Rayavadee in Krabi, Raya Heritage is a small resort with 33 spacious rooms set in a Lanna ambience of art and crafts. This resort is also known for hearty delicious breakfast and dining experience.
