We started our recent road trip to the south by making a two-night, do-nothing stop in Pranburi.
For those who are looking for a serious vacation, the one that would make you think of nothing, even the guilty feeling caused by some lingering, unfinished works, Pranburi would be the place I’d recommend. The place is about an hour south from Hua Hin, but with the world-away peace and quiet and enough local deliciousness that will make you feel immensely fulfilled.

Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas – as the name suggests – is a small, tree-plush, all-villa resort that is stone’s throw away from Pranburi’s small town cluster. The premises are not vast, but oblong with a highlight being the walkway towards the seaside. The pool villas, however, are huge, beautiful and packed with amenities. Above is our entry-level, 248-sqm, pool villa perfect for two. With outdoor and indoor showers, outdoor sunken bathtub, pool cabana (love it, perfect for an afternoon nap), and yes, a pool that is quite spacious for some serious paddling.
For those who come in larger groups, there are also duplex pool villa and pool villa suite that can be expanded to accommodate more people as well, especially family with children. For more information about the rooms and the resort, this is their website. This pool villa starts at about Bt7,000++ with breakfast for two.
Above: The main lotus pond for immediate serenity. We spotted black herons enjoying their breakfast at this pond at the same time that we were also having ours. 😀

The resort is now building a new spa facility that should be complete in a couple of months.
Below is some of our breakfast. Sheraton is part of Marriott, hence members of Marriott Rewards, SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) and the Ritz-Carlton Rewards can also enjoy their benefits.
Breakfast and their breakfast room Dalah.
Seafood Barbeque dinner
If you want to tuck in and enjoy the villa to the max, it is also a good idea to check out their nightly food offers. You might want to have a drink at their beachfront Luna La Pran or in the case of rain, they will move the catering down to the indoor Dalah.
We had a night of a very delicious and fresh seafood BBQ dinner. Apart from the choices of the local seafood (blue swimming crabs being the permanent star), they also have grilled scallops with cheese, river prawns, rock shrimps, Thai spicy salads of all types, pasta varieties, and a lot more of the ready-to-eat options that will test your self-control. 😀
P.S. The BBQ Buffet Dinner is served every Saturday night, 18.00 – 22.00, Bt1,490/person, up to 20% off for members.
A great peaceful and lovely resort for a real vacation. Perfect for a couple, and also for those with children. Small space, though, but with everything you would want, including the fitness, swimming pool and spa.
