SUMMARY – Man Fu Yuan is a elegant Cantonese restaurant in the Rajpreuk Club on Changwattana Road behind the Government Complex. Its cosy luxurious ambiance plus private rooms in various sizes are good for business lunch, family meals or any feel-good day. I like their premium tea selections (Bt128-248++ per person), freshly-made dim sum varieties, tea duck (best with steamed rice, drizzles of soy sauce and their homemade XO sauce), and made-to-your-cravings Cantonese-style comfort dishes such as wonton noodle soup and congee.
Dim Sum Selections – Man Fu Yuan’s dim sum makes the majority of their menu, with a total of 32 varieties in all. We stick to our favourites which are likely to be most people’s favourites, as far as I am concerned. Simple, tasty and filling selections. Compared to other dim sum places, Man Fu Yuan’s portions are a bit smaller but definitely stuffed with tasty and premium goodies.
From top, left to right by row are 1. capsicum stuffed with prawns in black bean sauce, 2. har gow (prawn dumplings), 3. signature custard buns, 4. beautifully made yam croquettes, 5. siew long pao with spicy vinegar sauce, 6. pork ribs with garlic, 7. honey glazed pork buns, 8. prawns and spinach dumplings and 10. prawns wrapped in dried bean curd skin. In the below pictures, you will see we also had three more dim sum were (from top) 1. filo dough with prawns, 2. Teochew dumplings and 3. ‘Phoenix’ feet with XO sauce (my fav:). The prices range from Bt138 – 158++ per item.
Sticking to the comfort zone, we also had the very delicious BBQ pork noodle with the wonton soup on the side. The noodle was deliciously glazed with BBQ pork sauce. Very delicious. The wontons, all shrimps, in clear and tasty soup made the meal even more wholesome. If you like teas, Man Fu Yuan is a place where you can enjoy premium tea leaves that range from Man Fu Yuan Special 5 Elements Blends and Royal Red Robe (from China’s famous Wuyi Rocky Mountains) to Aged Puer from Yunnan and West Lake Dragonwell the full-bodied green tea that is always my favourite. The tea is Bt128++per person in the main dining room or Bt248++ per person for a private room.
