The Mayflower at Dusit Thani is having a special ‘Cantonese Food and Wine Pairing’ with the Australia-based Handpicked Wines on Tuesday May 22, 2018 from 18.00 hrs. onwards. The six-course dinner will be paired with 5 wines ‘handpicked’ by the winery. And the selections include wines from Yarra Valley and Clare Valley in Australia, Pinot Noir from New Zealand, carbonated Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawarra in South Australia and dessert wine or ‘Moscato d’Asti from Pied Monte in Italy.
The wine dinner is Bt3,200++ per person for Dusit Gold members (membership available for free online at www.dusitgold.com) or Bt3,500++ for non members. Throughout the meal, Mr. Peter Dillion, Handpicked Wines’ winemaking director will also be there to explain more about the wines being served along with the meal.
Handpicked is a contemporary Australian wine company that curates grapes from all over the world to produce their reserves. Among its collections are grapes from 21 wine regions and 5 countries with Australia leading the pack.
The food to be served that night will include Mayflower’s favourites and signatures. The Chinese canapés of pumpkins coated with salted egg yolk is crunchy and delicious. Delicate avocado salad with seafood, egg-white soup with shimeji, chili crab, peking duck and succulent grilled rack of lamb (or braised beef cheek) and the finale of mango pudding and banana ball are on the menu.
